To keep it short
1
The Inspiration
Our clients' Pinterest board showed lots of asymmetry, both in the orientation of the center stone and the curvature of the band.
2
The Consultation
During their consultation, we walked through their Pinterest board together to find common themes and pick out their favorite elements. We settled on an asymmetrical pear or oval shape, with a half bezel incorporated into a bypass-style band.

The Stone
After our consultation, our clients weighed their options between the oval and pear, and a lab versus mined Montana sapphire. Before getting started on CAD, we worked with them to select the perfect lab-grown pear sapphire.
The Process
After receiving their first images, they requested a more dramatic curve on the band and a knife-edge style at the base of the pear. We worked through some limitations - for instance, since the pear is set horizontally, it takes up a lot of space on the finger and doesn't leave room for a more exaggerated curve of the shoulders. Finally we added a Euro shank to keep the ring stable on the finger.
