To keep it short
1
The Vision
Our client was looking for a statement-making engagement ring with a wide band. He wanted to engrave the band with a design inspired by traditional Mexican leather tooling to honor he and his future fiancee's heritage.
2
The Jumping Off Point
He was inspired by our Allyson pear, but wanted to center the stone on the band, change to a prong setting, and add the engraving.
3
The Engraving Inspiration
Our client sent us examples of the kind of traditional Mexican leather tooling he was interested in emulating on the ring.
The Process
We used the images from our client to create the engraving pattern. He requested that the engraving be as delicate as possible, so we were careful not to inscribe too deep into the band. He loved the first version we sent, but wanted to add a blank sizing bar onto the back so the pattern wouldn't be interrupted if we needed to resize down the line.
